Profile
| BA (Hons) (Loughborough) | MA (Central St Martins) |
My background is in mixed media textile design for fashion. I have exhibited and sold work internationally and worked in various areas of the fashion and textiles field, including styling and art direction: clients have included the BBC, Michiko Koshino and Reebok. My work has also been featured in Elle Decoration, WGSN, MADE and International Textiles.
The ubiquitous yet shape-shifting quality of textiles often means that its role in the designed object is unseen, unspoken or undermined. The textile design community is tentative in articulating a critical awareness of its distinctive type of design thinking.
Quick navigation
My PhD by Thesis seeks to explore how concepts in, and conceptualisations of textile design are communicated amongst textile designers, towards other types of designers and into broader cultural contexts.
