Research:

I am particularly interested in the coercion that the narrative image plays in Art Design and Media specialism's. How children's book illustration can take the viewer, adult and or child, to that place of illusion. I am currently exploring the visual narrative of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Working towards publication and exhibition.

I am also very interested in the communicative value that formal portraiture can play out when exploring more than a likeness, a personality. The grasp of the personality in such work is paramount to the success of the piece. Current projects are held at (www.envf.port.ac.uk/illustration/images).
