Profile
| BA (Hons) (Portsmouth) |
I joined Portsmouth as an undergraduate student and graduated in 1996, specialising in historical and theoretical studies. Since then, I have taught theory to many disciplines within the School of Art, Design and Media, including film, animation and photography. My teaching encompasses most areas of visual culture. I have contributed extensively to the oral history archives at Portsmouth City Museum and to its exhibition ‘Portsmouth at Play’.

Current Research[Back to top]
I am currently developing a research project on cinema usherettes and their role in the pleasure of film consumption to international cinema audiences. An associated website will hold oral history testimony, images and related research, and I plan to present my research at several meetings in the next year.
