Christine Field, Fashion & Textiles

Christine has a range of qualifications in technical and craft skills including fashion, tailoring and machine embroidery.  Her specialist areas are pattern cutting and garment construction and she has been teaching these subjects to a variety of student groups since 1998.  Christine has undertaken commissions covering formal and informal occasions and has been employed to make gifts and accessories for a company specialising in personalised products.

The development of craft skills is important in preparing students for a wide range of vocational routes within the fashion industry.  The focus on converting design ideas into reality is established with a “hands on” approach to supporting students with an eye for detail and quality of manufacture.
