I joined Portsmouth in 2008, having worked as a photographer’s assistant and freelance photographer and as a visiting lecturer in photography at the University of Gloucestershire. For the last two years I have been working as the photographer on a project called Lettering and Process with Andrew Haslam (Brighton). This project has documented the processes used to create all forms of lettering including early mono type, stone and wood carving, tattoos, letters formed from single atoms by nano scientists and hundreds of others. Out of this arose my collaborative research project on the Commonwealth war graves.
