The Portsmouth School of Architecture, founded in 1930, has an international reputation for excellence in learning teaching and research around the discipline of architecture. Located on the south coast, a large School with over 700 students, it is part of the University’s creative cluster - the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCi). The School has strong links with practice and excellent facilities.
We offer undergraduate courses in Architecture and Interior Design and Postgraduate courses in Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Design, Sustainable Design, Historic Building Conservation and Professional Practice.
Whilst Portsmouth students are highly creative, the work of the ‘Portsmouth student’ is ‘grounded’. It embraces real issues and real problems and wherever possible engages with ‘live’ projects. Here, students become confident designers who are prepared to tackle the complex issues arising from the design of a detail right through to those of city regeneration. In an era of climate change and economic uncertainty, all students show that they are a creative force, ready to engage, and are prepared for the future.
