The exhibition will bring together a body of work from students studying on a range of courses at Portsmouth University: Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Sustainable Architecture, Urban Design and Historic Building Conservation, at both postgraduate and undergraduate level.

Mottisfont Abbey has been used as a site for investigation of inter-disciplinary language and attitudes towards ‘reading’ a site or building have been explored. This research has resulted in a series of proposals for creative design interventions in response to the unique nature, history and possible futures of Mottisfont.

The work will explore a range of disciplinary approaches and skills to raise questions and stimulate debate on how we think about preservation, conservation and cultural production.

Students and staff will be at Mottisfont on 2nd, 7th and 14th July, 2-4 to talk about the work and answer questions from Mottisfont staff, volunteers and visitors.

Project co-ordinator: Belinda Mitchell, University of Portsmouth
