School of Architecture moving to the new building designed by Penoyre & Prasad

Our Head of School, Mrs Pamela Cole, is delighted to announce that the School of Architecture will be moving to the new building designed by Penoyre & Prasad. In her own words:
'I am very pleased to be able to inform you that the Portsmouth School of Architecture is relocating to the new Penoyre and Prasad West Wing of the Eldon campus. The School will take the three top floors of the new building in their entirety, and staff will be located on each floor alongside studios. The new space will allow us to be flexible in usage of studio and we are planning open access areas within the studio spaces for flexible learning and teaching with new Mac computers on each floor. In addition each floor has the all important tea point for student use. The top floor is set to be our postgraduate teaching space, a studio planned to provide a variety of spaces for teaching, working and self-directed learning. The main entrance of the Eldon campus is on the ground floor of the new building, and has a corten clad staircase, with a large exhibition space and café opening to the courtyard; lecture theatre and classrooms are on the first floor. The School will be equipped with new furniture and facilities to ensure an excellent student experience.
Eldon South Wing was fully refurbished last summer providing a large student social learning space, and the larger workshops on the ground floor are readily accessible. New facilities include a 3D printer, and we will benefit from full use of Eldon facilities such as photography and screen printing.
I am sure you will agree it is interesting times for the School. The plans of the building will be available for current and prospective students, and on-line shortly.
