Profile

Greg Bailey is currently a Ba1 Design Studio Leader, and runs short courses in creative writing and small scale housing. He also tutors Diploma 2 Dissertations, and is involved in reviewing student projects from all academic year groups. Through his particular interest in the history and architecture of Central Europe, he takes a specialist BA2 field trip each year to places like Austria, Slovenia and Croatia.

Greg is a qualified architect, with his own small practice on the Isle of Wight, where he lives. He has a passion for contemporary architecture that is people–centred, calm and modest, but with an equal love for the masters of the Italian Renaissance. Becoming an architect only later in his career, a broad experience of life informs his approach to teaching architecture, supported by interests in landscape, dance, electronic music and a belief in books and learning.

Within school he is also deputy chair of the Student Staff Liaison Committee, following his commitment to helping students get the best out of their architecture school and university experience.
