Qualification: BSc Biotechnology

I found my time at Portsmouth University a greatly stimulating and enjoyable experience. The help and support I received throughout my degree from the staff at the university really opened my horizons to science and gave me the confidence to push the boundaries. I studied Biotechnology and found the core subjects of Microbiology and Genetic Engineering both fascinating and practical. Many of the techniques and ideologies put forward in the degree are helping me through my career as a Scientist.

I now work as part of a microbiology team at Pall Europe (http://www.pall.com/). The main scope of the job is validating that filters work with biopharmaceutical drugs by challenging them diminutive bacteria. I still rely on many of the microbiological skills and theories taught from my time at University and would recommend the course to anyone interested in the subject.
