Research Student Applications
Applications are invited from well-qualified self-funded graduates to undertake full-time or part-time research leading to a PhD degree in the School of Computing. at the University of Portsmouth. Those holding degrees from British Universities should normally have at least an upper second class honours degree (a lower second class honours degree plus a Masters degree is also acceptable).
We are looking for students to work in areas that include:
- Artificial Intelligence (including Data Mining, Neural Nets, Evolutionary Algorithms and Fuzzy Logic)
- Parallel and Distributed Systems
- Healthcare Modelling and Informatics
- Information Systems
- Security and digital forensics
Accepted candidates will register on a full-time or part-time basis starting in September/February and will work with other researchers in the department.

Selected applicants will be asked to supply more information, including the names of two referees. They will be invited to come for interview in Portsmouth and to give a short presentation on their proposed projects. Selected overseas applicants will be invited to a telephone interview.
