Profile

Academic Qualifications

PhD, PgC, BSc (Hons)

Roles

MSc Forensic IT Course Leader

Teaching Interests

Primarily I am teaching on the Digital Forensics and Cryptography units; however, I am also involved with the first year programming and web units.

Research Interests

My primary interest lies in automating aspects of reverse engineering of binary executables.  I also have an interest in vehicular ad hoc networks and automated traffic information systems - with a focus on self-organising systems. I am a member of the Parallel and Distributed Systems Research Group.

PhD Supervision Topics

I am willing to supervise prospective PhD students in any of the following areas:

  • Binary Analysis / Reverse Engineering
  • Computer Security (particularly threat/exploit related)
  • Ad hoc networks / VANETS
