Profile
I joined the university part time in 1999; full time in 2002. Previously I was a musician and music teacher with a wide range of experience in music performance and music technology. I was course leader for BSc Music and Sound Technology until 2010 leaving that role to undertake a PhD. I am Admissions Officer for CT.
Current Research
I have just begun working towards investigating the areas of understanding and meaning in modern experimental music, particularly that generated by software application in live performance situations and in installation and soundscape activities. I am investigating how this might intersect with pedagogical areas: there is a possibility of student observation and, perhaps, participant observation providing relevant research information concerning how people relate more extreme ideas of creative practice to modern culture.
