Profile

Mark is a lecturer in Music & Sound Technology and lectures on our BSc Music & Sound Technology, MSc Computational Sound, MSc Digital Media and BSc Computing and Digital Sound course on which he is also Course Leader. Mark is an active musician, composer and engineer and was previously Head of the Music Department at Northbrook College. He is a member of the Advanced Games Research Group and has a wide range of research interests in Music Technology with a particular focus on algorithmic composition, physical modeling synthesis and production aesthetics.

His current research applies perceptual analysis models to generate structural descriptions of music, which are then used as meta-templates to generate new algorithmic compositions.
