Holman  On Monday 18th July 2011 the Dental Academy celebrated the 5th cohort of Dental Hygiene/Therapy students’ graduation. Dame Margaret Seward (past President of the General Dental Council and past Chief Dental Officer) and Professor Nairn Wilson (current Dean of Kings College London Dental Institute) travelled to Portsmouth to celebrate and share in the student success. There was a prize giving and an opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of each student on their journey to this point.

The Clinical Director of the Dental Academy, John Weld presided over the prize giving ceremony. Dame Margaret Seward, who has been a close supporter of Dental Care Professionals education at Portsmouth, was present to award The Dame Margaret Seward prize to Angelina Holman for Professionalism and Clinical performance. The British Dental Association Prize (The David Baird Prize) was awarded to Katy Spiller for Outstanding Academic Achievement. The British society of Dental Hygiene Prize was awarded to Sarah Armstrong for Clinical Achievement in Dental Hygiene. The British Association of Dental Therapists prize was awarded to Suzanne Sewell for Clinical Achievement in Dental Therapy.
