After qualifying in 2002 from The School of Clinical Dentistry at Sheffield University with a joint Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy I have worked in various sectors of the dental environment.
In 2007 I took a teaching post at the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy, training student dental hygienists, therapists and nurses. In 2009 I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Currently I am working part-time at UPDA as a Dental Hygiene / Therapy Tutor and part-time in General Practice as a Dental Hygienist / Therapist; including the treatment of NHS, Private, and orthodontic patients.
At the Dental Academy I am involved in the clinical supervision of students throughout the entirety of their training along with the academic delivery of aspects of the pre-clinical units.
