Robert Gausden BA (CNAA), MA (Econ)(Manchester)

Robert joined the Department of Economics as a Senior Lecturer in February 2004, having previously held lecturing positions at the University of Northumbria and the University of Leeds.

Robert specialises in the teaching of Econometrics, Quantitative Methods and Macroeconomics. Also, since he took up his position at the University of Portsmouth, he has taught units in International Economics.

Robert is currently working towards a Ph.D. in Economics. His thesis is on the topic of the Relationship between the Price of Oil and U.K. Macroeconomic Performance. Robert has had published applied econometric research in academic journals, such as the European Economic Review and Applied Economics. The published papers have been on the topics of Modelling Consumers' Expenditure in the U.K., and the Relationship between Real Wages and Employment.
