Entry into levels 2 and 3
This applies to course you are looking at.
We welcome candidates who have appropriate academic qualifications and work experience to apply for places on the second and final stages of all our undergraduate courses.
The information given below, indicate the nature of the academic qualifications that we normally consider for advance entry. If you think that you may have a qualification equivalent to the ones stated below, we would encourage you to contact us.
Stage 2 Entry
Applicants offering suitable higher educational qualifications and work experience may be admitted directly into the second stage of a course in accordance with Faculty policy on the accreditation of prior learning. Typical suitable qualifications include:
- Successful completion of stage 1 of a similar degree course elsewhere.
- Successful completion of an appropriate higher education course at an overseas institution judged to have met the academic standard required for entry to stage two of the course to which application is being made.
Stage 3 Entry
Applicants may be accepted into the third stage of a course if they have suitable qualifications and experience. Applicants with suitable qualifications include:
- A BTEC Higher National Diploma with merits / distinctions in appropriate subjects at level H.
- Students selected from partner institutions in an ERASMUS scheme who, apart from the project, have completed their degree studies.
- A Foundation Degree in an appropriate subject.
- Students who have successfully completed an appropriate three year post 'A2' level course at an overseas institution judged to cover similar material at a comparable standard to that in stages one and two of the course for which they are applying.
- Students who have passed at least three of the Engineering Council's stage II examinations in appropriate subjects.
- Successful completion of an appropriate higher education course at an overseas institution judged to have met the academic standard required for entry to stage three of the course to which application is being made.
