Profile
MEng, PhD
Andrea Bucchi is a Lecturer in Engineering Sciences in the School of Engineering and member of the Biomechanical Enigineering Research Group and Thermo-Fluid, Petroleum and Energy Engineering Research Group. He obtained a Master Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 2003. He received his PhD, “A FEM Study of Fluid Active Structure Interaction for Space Applications” from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 2009.
Andrea was, previously research fellow at University of Southampton from 2009 to 2011, working on the wave energy device Anaconda. His research interests are in fluid-structure interaction, wave energy device and energy harvesting using piezoelectric material, numerical methods, finite element modelling and programming for fluid dynamics and structural mechanics including hyper-elastic and piezoelectric materials.
