Profile

Professor Jie Tong holds a Chair in Mechanical Engineering, and leads the Mechanical Behaviour of Materials research group.

Current Research Interests:

  • Orthopaedic Biomechanics
  • Fatigue due to foreign object damage (FOD ) under LCF/HCF loading
  • Creep-fatigue interaction
  • Mechanics of fracture and fatigue crack growth

Teaching Duties:

  • Structural Integrity (M.SI); Research Methods (M.RM); Structural Applications of Finite Elements (M.SAFE); Materials 3 (MB3.6); Mechanical Behaviour of Materials (M.MBM); CAE2 (M.CAE).

Admin Duties:

  • RAE co-ordinator (UOA28); member of the University, Faculty and Departmental Research and Knowledge Transfer Committees.
