The School of Engineering
Professional Accreditation
The School has been awarded a plaque from The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in recognition of 25 years of continuous accreditation.
Most of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses are accredited by professional institutions in the UK for the Chartered Engineer (CEng) and the Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status. The accrediting institutions include:
Accreditation means that if you graduate with one of our MEng degrees at the required standard, you will have fully met all the educational requirements needed for registration as a Chartered Engineer. However, if you graduate with one of our accredited BEng degrees at the required standard, you will have partially met the educational requirements needed for registration as a Chartered Engineer.
Our accredited MSc courses allow holders of CEng accredited BEng (Hons) and BSc (Hons) awards at certain standards to be toped up in order to fully meet the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer status.
Some of our undergraduate courses are accredited by one or more institutions for meeting the educational requirements for IEng status. Please refer to each course web page to find out if it is either CEng or IEng accredited.
