School of Engineering (ENG)

Research

The School of Engineering has 50 members of academic staff, 40 research staff and students. Our mission is to conduct quality research and knowledge transfer in response to practical demands in defence, healthcare, manufacturing, marine and service industries, supported by grants from the EPSRC, the MRC, the Royal Society, EU, MOD, UK charities and industries.

The School is well equipped with some of the start-of-the-art experimental and computational facilities in a range of mechanical, electronic and computer science areas. Research, knowledge transfer and consultancy also impact on teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, so that our taught courses remain relevant to ever increasing technological advances and meet the demands of industries.
