Geography staff recently supported the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths by donning their finery to attend the charity premiere of the new James Bond film, Skyfall, in Portsmouth’s Gunwharf Quays. Held on Thursday 25th October, the day before general release, the event included a chance to get up close and personal with the iconic Aston Martins and a talk by the Foundations Trustee, Dr Richard Wilson. Inspired by 007’s antics, staff have been encouraging students to think about the geographies of James Bond, ranging from the representation of geopolitics through film to geographies of branding and cyber geographies to name but a few.
