Profile
After graduating from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (A.T.B.U.), Bauchi-Nigeria in 2001/2002 academic session with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Urban and Regional Planning; I joined the Nigeria’s National Boundary Commission in 2003 as an Administrative Officer II, converted to Planning Officer cadre and rose to become a Senior Planning Officer in 2009. During this period, I have worked in various departments of the Commission as AOII (A&P), POI, and Desk Officer (South-South).
I did my Masters degree in Coastal and marine Resources Management from the University of Portsmouth in 2010 was appointed as the Desk Officer (Nigeria-Sao Tome & Principe Maritime Boundary) in the Maritime Boundaries and Geo informatics Department of the Commission in April 2011.
Research
My PhD research is on the Sustainable Management of Marine Resources along the Gulf of Guinea. This research involves the study and evaluation of the use of coastal and marine zones sustainability indicators to measure the marine resource management regimes along the Gulf of Guinea with particular emphasis on the Nigeria-Sao Tome & Principe Joint Development Zone (JDZ). The research is sponsored by the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (P.T.D.F.), Nigeria and is jointly supervised by the trio of Dr. Jonathan Potts, Dr. Helen Glenn and Dr. Brian Baily.
