Environmental Design and Management research overview

Environmental Design and Management

The Environmental Design and Management research area is part of a federation of departments and groups within the University that have an interest in the design and management of the environment. This covers a wide spectrum of environmental issues which ranges from the design and initial decision to build to the management of the natural environment.

The research area is centred around the award winning Portland Building which was purpose-designed by Professor of design Sir Colin Stansfield-Smith.

In addition to offering an exciting and inspiring environment in which to learn, the Portland Learning Resource Centre provides state-of-the-art teaching and learning resources, a dedicated journals and reference library, several computer suites and a refectory for welcome breaks and meeting friends.
