The Programme
We think we have put together a really exciting array of sessions, ranging from academic lectures to tutorials to study skills sessions to hands-on crime scene investigation. We are also very pleased to have one of our cohorts of Professional Doctorate students presenting their research ideas as part of their ongoing assessment. Please click the link below for the full programme which you can download and print. Please note at the end of it are the car park vouchers that you will need to park in Gunwharf Quays.
Extras
This year we have a few extras that may interest you: one-to-one sessions with Linda Jones, Martin Hampton and Janet Woolnough and 2 interactive sessions with Dr Paul Smith at the department's Crime Scene House. Spaces are limited so book early to avoid disappointment!

Martin Hampton
Martin Hampton is part of the Academic Skills team. Their purpose is to promote the development of the academic skills and literacies that students need to be successful at university level study.
Martin will be available for one-to-one sessions on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 January 2012 at the winter study school.
The best way to use such a session would be to bring one or more marked assignments where your marker has indicated that you could improve structure, use of sources (referencing), expression (including grammar and punctuation) or 'critical analysis'. Previous attendees have reported that they have been able to boost their marks after one-to-one advice on these kinds of issues.
