My teaching and research focuses on victimology, the role of victims in the criminal justice system and the criminal justice response to victims. I have worked at ICJS since 2000 and prior to that was a Probation Officer in Dorset. I am a member of the Dorset Criminal Justice Board consultative committee and undertake research and training in Dorset which focuses on the different agencies’ responsibilities towards victims and the implementation of policies and legislation. I am the Independant Facilitator for the Dorset CPS Hate Crime Scrutiny Panel and an External Examiner for the University of Huddersfield.

- Evaluation of probation victim contact work
- From "Good Citizen" to "Deserving Client": an Analysis of the Relationship between Victims and the State using Citizenship as the Conceptualising Tool.
- Research undertaken on behalf of the Dorset Criminal Justice Board including an audit of local services for victims and witnesses and a witness satisfaction survey.
- Currently undertaking research which focusses on victims of domestic violence (both male and female) who have been assessed as high risk and made subject to a Multi- Agency Risk Assessment Conference. In particular, this study is looking at victim satisfaction with the police.
- Currently undertaking a collaborative research project on victims of fraud commissioned by the National Fraud Strategic Authority, focusing on the services and support available to individuals who have become victims of fraud, often referred to as the 'silent' crime.
