Profile

I am the Course Leader in Criminology with Psychology and Senior Lecturer in Correctional Studies, at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, University of Portsmouth.  I am research active in a number of areas including: Punishment & Community Sentencing; Community Interventions & Desistance; and the History of Crime & Punishment, and always happy to consider something new.  I recently completing my Ph.D entitled: Social Intervention: Supporting Success, Guiding Desistance, which considers community based interventions and the support for individuals as they move away from offending behaviour.  I am also the co-author of Professional Risk and Working with People: Decision-Making in Health, Social Care and Criminal Justice, published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers.
