Profile

Andy Bain is Course Leader in Criminology with Psychology and Senior Lecturer in Prison Studies, at the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, University of Portsmouth.  Andy is research active in a number of areas including: Punishment & Community Sentencing; Community Interventions & Desistance; and the History of Crime & Punishment.  Andy is currently undertaking a PhD study looking at the community based intervention and the support for desistance from offending behaviour.  He is the co-author of Professional Risk and Working with People: Decision-Making in Health, Social Care and Criminal Justice, published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers.
