Application for Bail news story photo Sixth formers from Barton Peveril College, Portsmouth College, Southdowns College and Peter Symonds College came to a court room to hear how Human Rights support democracy.  After a short talk, they saw Human Rights in action.  Drama students Ross Stephenson and Maya Thomas gave a short, but convincing cameo of a couple involved in an abusive relationship which ended with Ross being arrested.  Law students Holly Hampton, Lauren Romo, Orlando Beckett and Lorna Secker, all robed as barristers, then argued the case in the courtroom, putting each side’s case as it would be argued in real life.  They are all undertaking a voluntary Advocacy Training Course and represented their clients extremely well.  The event really impressed the sixth formers and one college has already asked to attend further events.
