Intelligence in early life and adult health

How well children and young adults perform on tests of intelligence is a predictor of their later health and longevity. In this talk Catharine Gale will describe the links between intelligence in early life and mortality, illness and health behaviours and will explore some of the explanations for these findings.

Catharine Gale is a Reader in Epidemiology at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit, at the University of Southampton, and a Research Member of the Centre for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology, the University of Edinburgh.
