Profile
Jana is a Lecturer in the Department of Strategy and Business Systems and a member of the Logistics and Management Mathematics research group. Her teaching subjects are Quantitative methods and International Trade & Physical Distribution.
Her main research interests are:
- Meta-heuristics
- transport logistics
- supply chain management
with a particular focus on green logistics.
She has been a member of the University of Portsmouth research team on two EU-funded project under the 7th Framework Programme: LOGMAN (www.logman-footprint.eu) and SEABILLA (www.seabilla.eu). In collaboration with members of CORE (El Grupo de COnfiguración de REdes) research group at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (Chile), she is working on developing optimisation strategies for port operations in container terminals.
She has presented her work at international conferences in various places including Charleston (US), Puerto Varas (Chile), Lisbon (Portugal) and Zurich (Switzerland).
