Profile

Thomas Waters is a Senior Lecturer in the Nonlinear and Complex Systems research group.

Thomas received a BSc in Mathematical Sciences and PhD in Applied Mathematics (supervised by Dr. Brien Nolan), both from Dublin City University. Thomas then took up a research fellowship in the University of Strathclyde, before lecturing in the the National University of Ireland, Galway, for three years.

Thomas's research interests are in the field of non-linear dynamical systems, in particular with regards periodic orbits, integrability and chaos. Applications of interest are orbital mechanics, differential geometry and stability. Thomas is also interested in General Relativity and cosmic censorship.
