Profile

Dr Sergi Simon is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth in the UK. His main research interests are based on chaos and non-integrability in nonlinear dynamical systems. More specifically, his current interests are aimed at the study, from an algebraic viewpoint, of integrability and non-integrability in Hamiltonian systems, with special emphasis on models derived from Applied Matematics and Physics -- notably N-Body Problems and other systems arising from Celestial Mechanics. The algebraic framework involved hitherto in his research includes differential Galois theory, algebraic geometry and invariant theory of linear algebraic groups.

Dr Simon completed his Ph.D. at the University of Barcelona (Spain), as well as post-doctoral research in the University de Limoges (France).
