Information to students:

Want to get your artwork seen and make some money at the same time??

To celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (15th - 19th November 2010) the Portsmouth Centre for Enterprise will be launching 'For Sale', a student art exhibition offering all creative students the opportunity to sell their work and make some money. The exhibition will run for one month in The Hub.

'For Sale' invites all creative students to take part and pieces can be in any form: fashion; textiles; jewellery; photography; fine art; illustration; graphic design; film and more.

Why not make some money and sell your products.

The challenge is to create work which can be sold for a maximum of £50 with the full amount going to you.

A total of over £800 of artwork sold last year!

A high standard of work will be required because what you present will be part of a public showcase for the University. We are expecting this event to be extremely popular and space will be limited, so each item will be subject to a juried selection process. However, this will enable us to accept multiple pieces from each student for consideration.

Remember, when exhibiting in a commercial gallery, you must take into account the likes of the clientele it attracts. In this case, we ask that pieces have:

  • No sex/nudity
  • No religion
  • No 3D Objects larger than 30cm

The grand opening will take place on Monday 15th August. Exteral guests, University staff and students will be invited to view and purchase your work. An online catalogue will also be available.

Finished products to be delivered to the Portsmouth Centre for Enterprise (9th Floor, Mercantile House) by no later than 3pm on Friday 29th October 2010.

If interested, please contact Carley Cummings.
