Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences

Extended degree programmes

The School offers students without the normal entry requirements the opportunity to study for a four-year full time degree on the:

  • BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences (Extended Degree scheme)
  • BSc (Hons) Pharmacology (Extended Degree scheme)

Students are registered at the University but the first year of the extended programme is based at Chichester College of Arts, Science and Technology.

Our extended schemes allow you to pursue a degree course even if you currently lack the up-to-date qualifications and knowledge to make an immediate start. Your foundation year at Chichester gives you the chance to bring these up to the level where you can get the full benefit from a normal degree course. This is an excellent route to a university degree if some time has elapsed since you last studied.

The extended programme is suitable for:

  • Mature applicants not in possession of the normal 'A' levels or equivalent
  • Applicants with a GCE/GCSE science background wishing to return to study
  • Applicants with non-science 'A' levels
  • Applicants seeking a career change
  • Applicants finishing a youth training scheme and wishing to study for a degree

Places may also be available for candidates who narrowly missed the requirements of conditional offers.
