Psychologist seeks ticklers
Tue, 10 Jan 2012 16:04:00 GMT

A Departmental psychologist is seeking videos of people tickling babies and dogs as part of a study she is currently undertaking.
The study, led by Dr. Marina Davila-Ross a primatologist and comparative psychologist who examines the use of laughter and play vocalizations in dogs, apes, and children during specific tickling/play contexts (e.g., ‘the tickling hand approaches’). Its in-depth comparative approach is likely to provide us insights to positive emotions and communication across animals and humans --- what we have in common and where we differ.
The study was recently covered on BBC News.
