Three new lecturers joined the Department of Psychology during the summer period and have been welcomed by Dr Sherria Hoskins, Head of Department. Dr Dominic Pearson, Dr Juliane Kaminski and Mr Jerome Micheletta have joined the lecturing staff and will contribute across a variety of psychology disciplines.
Dr Dominic Pearson is joining from the Probation Service and is a Chartered Forensic Psychologist. He recently completed his innovative PhD in which he created a neural network model that could predict offender recidivism with amazing accuracy.
Jerome Micheletta is soon to complete his PhD in Comparative and Evolutionary Psychology and his appointment to the department will enable us to continue to build on the success we have already achieved at the Macaque Study Centre at Marwell Wildlife Park.
Dr Juliane Kaminski is from the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig. She will enhance the current work in the Centre for Comparative and Evolutionary Psychology with her groundbreaking work in comparative social cognition, focussing on the theory of mind related skills in different species (including dogs) and the influence of domestication on animal cognition.
