Psychology
Profile
Background
After studying psychology at the Universität Potsdam (Germany) and the University of Sussex (UK), I graduated in 2004. Later that year I joined the department as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. I am a member of the International Centre for Research in Forensic Psychology, the Society for Applied Research in Memory and Cognition (SARMAC), and the European Association for Psychology and Law (EAPL). From 2006, I represent the postgraduate students in the Research Committee of the Department of Psychology. In 2007, I was recognised as Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Research interests
I am currently studying part-time for a PhD under the supervision of Prof. A. Vrij, Dr. L. Akehurst, and Dr. C. Wilson. My research is looking at children’s beliefs about credibility and their deceptive behaviour. Further areas I am interested in are:
• Credibility assessment of child witnesses
• Criteria-Based Content Analysis (CBCA)
• Deception & truth-telling
• Social cognition
