Psychology
Profile
Background
In 2008, I graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a Bsc (Hons) in Psychology. For my final year project, I interviewed professional musicians, exploring the phenomenology of enjoyment and optimal experience under the supervision of Dr. Mark Burgess.
After university, in order to gain more experience I worked in a range of different clinical and non-clinical placements in the UK and abroad. In 2010, I began working as a research assistant for the University of Portsmouth, interviewing participants in studies of deception detection.
Research Interests
In February of 2011, I started my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Aldert Vrij, Dr. Samantha Mann, and Dr. Sharon Leal.
I am interested in the interview techniques used for deception detection. I am currently investigating the most effective use of a second interviewer in suspect interviews.
