Profile

Background

In 2008 after graduating with a BSc in Psychology, I obtained my MSc in Clinical Psychology, from “La Sapienza”, University of Rome, Italy. During my training in Clinical Psychology I have worked as Clinical Assistant Psychologist at the Department of Child Neuropsychiatry, Rome, Italy. My MSc thesis focused on psychopathological profiles in children with language disability. In 2009 I obtained a PGc in Psychology of Binge Eating Disorder; the following year I became a member of the Italian Psychological Society.

Research Interests

I am currently involved in the Autism Research Network (ARN). I am involved on a research project which aims to establish how the three main areas of difficulty in Autism Spectrum Condition - repetitive behaviours, sensory impairments and social difficulties, unfold over time. I have also been collaborating as volunteer with the “Portsmouth Autism Support Network”, Frank Sorrell Centre, South Sea I am currently working as Support Worker with adults with Autism Spectrum Condition, Asperger’s Syndrome and Challenging Behaviours.

Furthermore, I am conducting a study on the evolution of communication and emotions, with special focus on laughter and laugh faces in apes and humans under the supervision of Dr. Marina Davila-Ross, Centre for Comparative and Evolutionary Psychology.
