Profile

Background

I am a technical assistant to our department technicians. I prevoiusly worked for a high street store running their jewellery department. I have also worked as a teaching assistant, within my children's school, in classrooms for children aged between 4 and 11 years old  which has enabled me to become a parent governor of the school.

Responsibilities

I work during the university term time in the Department of Psychology technical resources, assisting students and staff  with booking out rooms, keys, equipment, assisting the technicians and finding psychometric tests.

My duties include:

• Psychometric test library
• Resource purchasing
• Video editing and digitising
• Instruction of equipment use – eg camcorders, dictaphones, health meters
• Maintaining equipment library database
• Maintaining labs
• Scanning and formatting documents 
• Photoshop editing
• Workshop maintenance
• Looking after dissertation additional materials and archive room
• Advice on department retention policy for project related data
• Disposal of redundant equipment
