Profile

I started work at Portsmouth University in 1996. Prior to this I worked at Southampton University. I took a year out in 2004 and went travelling around the world. I returned to Portsmouth the following year to resume my admin career at the University. I joined the Psychology Department in 2007.  

My main duties in Psychology currently include:

• Secretary to Head of Department.

• Running various open days and 6^th form college visits.

• Running the staff, visitors and research student induction programme.

• Administration of conferences, short courses and workshops. 

• Keeping finance records for the Research Committee and liaising with the Chair to authorise spending. 

• Minuting the Psychology Executive Committee and staff meetings. 

• Authorising orders. 

• Arranging travel bookings; coach, train, hotel and flights for staff and research students. 

• Keeping the student plasma screen updated with current news stories. 

• Helping with the admin for the research seminar series. 

• Inputting staff annual leave. 

• Social liaison officer!
