Profile
| BA (Hons) (Goldsmiths) | MA (Brunel) |
I am a novelist and writer with an interest in a broad range of writing from digital journalism and creative non-fiction to screen writing and writing for children and young adults. My PhD comprises a novel about Shakespeare’s Dark Lady and a reflective thesis on the ficitonalised versions of Shakespeare that co-exist with his (largely fictional) biography. This is due to be completed in 2012.
I have previously taught creative writing at Brunel and with the Open University, and I’ve also worked as a freelance journalist for the national media. My articles have appeared in the Guardian, Sunday Times, Independent on Sunday, Evening Standard and New Scientist.
My published books are dark, satirical novels, one set in contemporary Brighton, and the other in London and Greenham Common in the 1980s. My nonfiction guide: How To Be A Writer will be published by Piatkus this autumn.
