David Garland has previously taught writing, film and media in both the US and the UK, including the University of Southern California, Ithaca College and Coventry University. He wrote his MA thesis on the Hollywood Novel and his doctoral dissertation on David Letterman. His published work and conference presentations range from European to American film and television, reflecting particular research interests in critical theory, comedy and the talk show.
