The School of Civil Engineering and Surveying

Conference Dinner
The delegates of the conference will be warmly welcomed to join us at the evening conference dinner that will be situated on the HMS Warrior warship of 1860. The evening meal will be commencing shortly after the first day of the conference and will constitute of a three-course meal, followed by refreshments.
It is projected that the evening refreshments will be served on the top deck of the HMS Warrior with outstanding views across the Solent and of the Spinnaker Tower in Gunwharf Quays.
This venue boasts an overall area of 37,546 square feet, almost the size of a full-size football pitch. With a propeller weighing-in at 26 tons, and 4 anchors at 5.6 tons each one can only marvel at the sheer size of this Victorian warship. The ship was the world’s first modern battleship combining an iron hull, armour plate and steam machinery. Designed and launched in 1861 to counter the threat posed by the French Navy she was the fastest and most heavily armoured ship of her day.
Please Note: There are steep staircases and low ceilings so please endeavour to contact us should you have any disability requirements.
If you have any dietary requirements, please endeavour to contact us.
