Profile

Education

  • PhD in Applied Coastal Geomorphology, University of Portsmouth, 2009
  • Pg. Cert. in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, University of Portsmouth, 2009
  • MSc in Coastal and Marine Resource Management, University of Portsmouth, 2004
  • Pg. Dip. In Scandinavian Welfare Models, Roskilde University, Denmark, 2001

Research Interests

Isaac’s research interest involves coastal geomorphological approaches to sustainable coastal adaptation and management in the face of climate change and associated sea level rise. His PhD research centred on coastal sediment budget analysis and integrated shoreline management. Other ongoing international research involvement comprise chairing a working group investigating the impacts of sea levels rise on planning in coastal regions and also working on integrated shoreline management planning, coastal erosion and physical processes along Ghana’s Coast. Isaac would be interested in supervising students who would like to research in any of the themes listed below:

  • Applied Coastal geomorphology
  • Integrated Shoreline Management Planning and Coastal Zone Management
  • Coastal Adaptation Planning and Climate Change
  • Valuation and Management of Non-Market Coastal and Ecological Resources
  • Coastal and Marine Resource Management and Marine Cadastre

Teaching

Isaac teaches on the MSc Coastal and Marine Resources Management course and the entire campus based undergraduate courses at the School of Environmental Design and Management. Below are selected postgraduate and undergraduate units that he taught either as a unit coordinator or unit contributor.
