Postgraduate Programme Leader: Coordinating and developing postgraduate education aligned to the two professions of Civil Engineering (ICE) and Surveying (RICS) and Principal Lecturer.

Industry Experience

Tim has a longstanding academic interest in estate and coastal management. He is an avid supporter of the RICS having served for three years on the Quantity Surveying & Construction Faculty Board and for eight years on the RICS Southern Region Board. He is particularly interested in international educational issues and is currently the RICS educational representative to FIG (International Federation of Surveyors), Commission 2, Education and Training. He is also active in supporting a number of other professional institutions

His research interests relate to the management/development of the coastal zone and has supervised successful PhD students that have produced projects relating to both Malaysia and China.

Over the time that Tim has worked at the University of Portsmouth he has had a wide variety of roles including: Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Head of the School of Environmental Design & Management and Faculty of the Environment Postgraduate Programme Area Director
