To be studied at the University of Portsmouth and at l’Université Paris Ouest-Nanterre-La Défense
Entry
There are two pathways of entry to the course:
1) Pre-selected
Applicants who have been pre-selected on the University of Portsmouth PGCE MFL may register on the Master 1 FLE at l’Université Paris Ouest.
The following year students will study the PGCE at the University of Portsmouth.
On successful completion of the Master 1 FLE, University of Portsmouth students register on the Master 2 FLE.
On the successful completion of the University of Portsmouth PGCE MFL (+ QTS) the students will receive both awards.
2) Post-PGCE
Students who already hold a University of Portsmouth award of PGCE (+ QTS) may be accepted directly onto the Master 2 FLE on a special programme (in the first semester students will study units from the Master 2 FLE and in the second semester students will study mandatory units from the Master 1 FLE).
Upon successful completion of the Master 2 FLE, students will receive the Master 2 FLE awarded by l’Université Paris Ouest.
Conditions
Conditions of entry include:
- Meeting the registration processes of both Universities;
- having a British undergraduate degree 2:1 in French;
- having a DALF B2 (to enter the Master 1 programme) from the French Institute in London.
- having a DALF C1 (to enter the Master 2 programme) from the French Institute in London.
Fees
Fees are as follows for 2013:
For Pathway 1 students will pay the registration fee at l’Université Paris Ouest for both the first (€255) and second (€255) years and the registration fee at University of Portsmouth for the second year and the year of the PGCE course (£8,750).
For Pathway 2 students will pay the registration fee at the University of Portsmouth for the PGCE MFL (£8,750) and the second year registration fee at l’Université Paris Ouest (€255).
