SECS resources in St George's Building
Resource Room 2.07
This room serves as a small work area for use by academic staff and students. It houses a collection of reference and loan copies of textbooks, national curriculum materials and dissertations, a number of video tapes, many of which relate to general or specific educational topics and issues, plus a collection of science lab equipment. The room has a TV and VCR so that video tapes can be reviewed. A database is being developed to aid searching for materials on a specific subject.
Items such as marker pens, scissors and staplers etc. may be borrowed for work within St George's Building. Your school will have such items for use on teaching practice. Some consumable materials, such as flipchart paper, sugar paper, OHP film etc. will also be held in this room, but please note we only supply materials to support teaching and learning in St George's Building, not for use in schools whilst on teaching practice. Your course tutors will advise you about access to materials within your teaching practice placements.
Please note that the photocopier in this room is for staff use only. There are photocopy facilities available for students in both the Frewen Library and the Student Union Building, both of which are in Ravelin Park.
Technicians Room 1.14
This room serves both as a loan store for audio-visual equipment such as tape recorders, microphones, digital cameras, camcorders, and slide projectors etc. These may be loaned from here for short periods of time (subject to certain conditions and availability).
