Diving

Sub-aqua techniques are useful tools to have for marine scientists: they allow a close contact with the environment and nothing replaces direct observation.

There are two diving units available on the course, designed to take you from the absolute basics to advanced topics of scientific and professional diving techniques.

In addition, the University's Student's Union runs it's own sub-aqua club which offers British Sub-Aqua Club training, lends out equipment and of course organises social events. The Portsmouth area is popular with divers and there are a number of dive clubs in and around town.
